Wedding and Portrait Photography – Karen Leaf

Sam and Dan were married today in Thompson under beautiful skies and surrounded by lving family and friends. The day was marked by a surprise proclamation by Govenor Rell marking their day as Mr and Mrs Daniel Gilbert Day in Connecticut!
They were married at Sacred Heart Church, also known as the Dam Church behind the Thompson Dam, and will be the last wedding performed there before its’ closing

I had wanted this shot since the last time I worked in this beautiful church so Kelly and I went up to the loft, I told here where to stand and what I was looking for, and she nailed it!

In the meantime, I was watching Sam as she walked down the aisle–and Dan’s expression was memorable.

We then went to the Thompson Commons which is always a beautiful background for family pictures–asking the guys to show their legs brought out the anticipated giggles. As did our bridal time out at the golf course.

The Raceway restaurant as always provided excellent service and delicious food, and was wonderfully decorated by Dan’s family with green grasses planted months ago for the occasion. The true ‘green wedding’!
