Last Thanksgiving while we were all in a turkey coma at the Vineyard, my faithful blackberry told me I had a new message. (Understand that we have no cell reception at the Vineyard house!) It was from the art director from Arrive Magazine, the travel magazine that Amtrak provides on the Acela, the high speed train from Washington-Boston. They wanted to use some of my Vineyard images for an upcoming article on the Greening of the Vineyard. Interesting topic with wind farms on the Sound being roundly debated, recycling on the Island a major undertaking for at least the past 10 years and as always down there, an environmental awareness that is about 10 years ahead of everywhere else.
She Googled and found some of my Martha’s Vineyard images that I had posted on Pbase about 4 years ago—a COLD winter night coming back on the boat from celebrating Mom’s birthday. After I found the originals (LISTEN TO ME: BACK UP EVERYTHING EVEN THO YOU THINK YOU’LL NEVER USE IT!) they were worked up, published, and the magazine came in today![]()
I’m really excited![]()
